William Scannell Obituary

William Harold Scannell, age 89 of Lily Lake, WI, died on Saturday, November 5th, 2022.  Son of the late Robert and Alice (McGrath) Scannell. William was born on May 22, 1933 in Paola Kansas. William was a proud Army Veteran who served in the Korean War.   William, along with his mother, brother Robert, and sister Patricia moved to Chicago, and that is where he met the love of his life Patricia Ann Bolton.  The two were married September 15th, 1953.  He worked as a heavy equipment manager until he retired in 1984.  William and Pat then moved from Hoffman Estates to Burlington, Wisconsin. Together William and Patricia raised 7 children.  William was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren all of which were the light of his life. William loved to sit on the veranda and read the newspaper.  His favorite saying was “Do you know what I like BEST about Sunday Mornings?  Everything!”. He loved family gatherings and having people visit up at the lake. He was always first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was very passionate about his family and his faith. He adored and loved his wife Patricia of 67 years.

He is survived by his children Christopher Scannell, William (Kris) Scannell, Kelly Landmeier, Tracy (Mark) Hollendonner, Sean (Tricia) Scannell, Erin (James) Koziol, and Megan Scannell.  Grandchildren Jenny (Mike) Endzel, Ryan Scannell, Katie (Justin) Taylor, Tyler Scannell, Gabrielle and Gracie Scannell, Wesley and Riley Landmeier, Matthew Hollendonner, Sean Patrick, Hannah and Gavin Scannell, Izabella and Charlie Koziol.  Great Grandchildren include Scarlett, Jack, and Ellie Endzel, Alayna, Blake and Aubrey Taylor, Sommer and Adeline Landmeier, Jax Landmeier, Dahlia Poole, and August Landmeier.

William is preceded in death by his late brother Robert (Margaret) Scannell and his late sister Patricia (John) Wuertz.
