Sandra Schoettel Obituary

On Friday, March 15th, 2024, Sandra Diane Schoettel entered into eternity with Jesus Christ and all her loved ones who have gone on before her.

She took her last breath exactly how she envisioned. She laid peacefully in her bed in her own home, surrounded by the presence and love of her husband, her two sons, and her niece Amy that was always a daughter to her.

Sandra was born on July 9th, 1960 in Milwaukee, WI to Janice and Lawrence “Pat” Newkirk. She was preceded in death by both her parents and her two sisters, Missy and Sherry. She is survived by her husband of 45 years; Frank, her two sons; Ian (Kayla) and Ben (Hillary), her siblings; Lisa and Ronnie, and her four beautiful grandchildren that were the greatest joy of her life; Isla, Parker, Sophie, and Oliver.

Although Sandra lived a life with significant trials and medical scares of her own, she always lived a life of compassion and care for others. Prior to retirement, Sandra served in a variety of roles in the healthcare field, and was always the healthcare advocate/source of wisdom for her family and friends. Sandra’s faith and love for her family were her sources of strength and purpose that allowed her to overcome many challenges and defy odds many times throughout her lifetime.

Sandra loved music, whether it was playing on the piano and singing or just sitting and listening to gospel songs and worship hymns. Later in life Sandra did her best to make memories with her husband Frank by spending as much time with nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, always showering the children in their lives with love. This also compelled Sandra and Frank to sponsor many children through World Vision, in hopes to be a blessing to as many children as they could, even in parts of the world they may never get to see.

As Sandra told Frank and her boys in their last few moments together, we can have peace in her memory now, knowing that she is with Jesus waiting for us, where “everything is beautiful, and everything is as it should be.”
