Gregory Noldin Obituary

Gregory Robert Noldin (Honest Greg), an artist and woodcarver of Sturgeon Bay, WI, was born to eternal life at the age of 71 on July 5th, 2021, days after a wonderful zoo trip with his family.  Greg was born August 15, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI to Fredrick and Audrey Noldin.

Greg lived a very exciting life. He was a lover of nature and fun. He was known as Honest Greg for selling Christmas trees at different tree lots including his favorite spot, “The Prop Wash”.  He had two beautiful daughters with ex-wife, Sally. He would then start a life  in Tomah and then Sturgeon Bay, WI with his partner, Gail Montie. Greg chased his dreams of continuing his artwork and became a chainsaw carver. He opened up his own shop called Earthworks. He continues to be known for his chainsaw bears, signs and tables. He later would become a Papa to his five grandsons. He enjoyed time with his dogs (Pepper, Bear, Yukon, Ziggy and Jack), camping, boating, fishing, owning peacocks and being with his family and friends.

Greg suffered from a debilitating stroke in 2017 which left him paralyzed. He treasured visits with friends and family. During this time he found God and came very close with Him.

Beloved father to Nicole (Craig) Mirr and Jennifer (Matt) Bingen, long time life partner to Gail Montie with her daughter, Lyndsay (Steve). Cherished Papa to his grandsons: Elijah, Jeremiah, Micah, Josiah, and Mason.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick (Enid) and Audrey, sister, Linda, half-brother, John, and step-brother, Richard.

Greg is survived by step-father, Pat, half-sister, Laura, nephews Jason, Ian (and family), William and Sam, nieces Leah, Lauren, and Elizabeth, ex-wife, Sally, ex-wife, Leslie and other family and friends.

He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Greg will always be known as a kind, outgoing, and fun loving guy with a great story to tell along with a love for Reggae music.

Dad, We hope you are up in Heaven catching “Old Whiskers” on a beautiful boat enjoying a Pineapple Malibu. You will always be loved and remembered.
