James (Jim) A. Thode, 73, was born on November 12th, 1945 to Arthur and Virginia Thode. Jim entered eternal life after an enduring battle with COPD and congestive heart failure on July 4th, 2019. Jim is survived by wife Suzy (Savignac) of 52 years. He is father to Kari (Mike) Houser and Lisa (Tim) Leveille and grandfather (Poppy) to 7 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter.
Jim graduated from Francis Jordan High School and went on to serve in the Army National Guard. He earned an apprenticeship as a lithographic stripper for Napco Graphic Arts Company. Jim pursued joining the sales department and was promoted quickly. He was one of the youngest salespersons with some of the largest accounts.
Jim became an entrepreneur in the printing business by opening his own office in the Oconomowoc area. After retiring he drove limousine and for even longer, a school bus. He volunteered at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital. Jim was an entertainer at local retirement homes encouraging the residents to sing karaoke and was a favorite at the VFW Post.
Jim loved flying small airplanes, printing projects, Harley Davidson motorcycles and the History Channel. Most of all, Jim loved Elvis Presley. He enjoyed Elvis so much he performed at many venues and was known as "The Post 449 Elvis". Jim's all-time favorite thing to do was date night with Suzy on Friday evenings!
